Not nICE: service guarantees and winter weather delays
When the weather impacts service
FedEx reinstated their service guarantee on January 17, 2022 -- just in time for Landon. In a statement on their website, FedEx stated that “The storm continues to create potentially hazardous operating conditions and the safety of our team members remains our number one priority. Contingency plans are in place, and we are prepared to provide the best possible service as local conditions allow. We will continue to monitor the situation to minimize the impact on service.”While the FedEx Money-Back Guarantee policy has been reinstated, it does not cover severe inclement weather. According to their website, “Consistent with the provisions of the FedEx Service Guide, shipments delayed due to winter weather are not eligible for a refund or credit under our Money Back Guarantee policy.” This is standard in the industry as weather patterns prevent planes from taking off or landing, and the safety of the crews are paramount.
Sometimes, however, weather becomes a blanket excuse. But how do you know when weather is a legitimate reason or a ploy to deny your refund? Well, we do. Our team doesn't just take their word for it. Our audit software applies logic that determines whether a storm in New York affected your delivery from San Francisco to San Diego and automatically secures your refund.
